I miss the old Kanye!
Ten years since Kanye’s album College Drop Out. Even though I was never a college drop out. I actually graduated and plan on graduating with my master too, but I still copped this CD. I liked how Kanye was this new style, smart, hardcore,backpack nerd rapper. He came across like he would verbally assault you and if you test him, he would punch you too. I wondered what was up with his wired jaw and it wasn’t even from being shot in a shootout. He was in a car accident. Kanye’s talent was the only thing that really mattered. Ten years ago, he was on his grind-no drama. He wanted to be heard and not talked about. But people talked about Kanye non-stop. My favorite tracks Slow Jams,All Falls Down,Spaceship,Jesus Walks,Two Words, and Through the Wire to name a few but the entire album was dope.

Did rap suck 10 years ago? I think NO but some of you are saying YES. What sucks now is that artists pull fake publicity stunts, we pay attention to break ups, cheating, and all the extra drama. There will always be beef in Hip Hop but the MORE we pay attention to the nonsense the LESS we focus on real Hip Hop Music. It happened and we suffered.
So please I beg you, “ Let’s get back to some dope a$$ Hip Hop Music!”
