I don't often talk about controversial issues such as racism, but this story has been all over the media and has caused a few arguments between me and some peers. Well, let's talk about it "racism" does it still exist today? Of course it does, and I have mixed feelings about what Donald Sterling said, but let's talk truth.
- We all know that ' ex girlfriend was about his money and set him up on tape to get a statement from him. But she did know he was a racist and was about to get kicked to the curb so I believe she took out her stash of evidence to stay relevant and get $. A smart scheme that exposes the truth.
- We all know that Donald Sterling has proved on tape that he does not like black people.
- We all know that every culture has a set of people who are shameful.
- We all know that we are allowed to speak our mind in the US "Freedom of Speech."
Donald Sterling did make comments that are fair. He mentioned that he is in a culture and he lives within that culture. But where he goes left is when he mentions Magic Johnson. Magic Johnson is a high-profile African-American and his name was brought up. I would be upset if I were Magic because Sterling took the whole conversation in a direction of hate, jealousy, and racism against his own culture of people he mentors. For that Sterling disgusts me even more.
Sterling should have said, " I don't have a problem with successful, intelligent Black people, but if you are going to go around taking pictures with scumbag low life Black people who are going to hurt your reputation, then I have a problem with that." Unfortunately, that is not the way it went down and there is over 100 hours of tape we still haven't heard. Sterling did also say he loves black people, do we believe that- Hell NO! We know how to read between the lines. Sterling was busted for saying that he didn't want his girl to hang around and bring Black people to his games. But he coaches a team full of Black people that made him rich. It's ironic, but real.
Courtesy of World StarHipHop.com listen to what LIL WAYNE is saying. I agree with him on what to do if I were a Clippers player-this speaks bigger volumes more than anything any celebrity has said thus far.
